What is Picnic?

We build the most effective advertising products possible for advertiser, publishers and users, delivering intuitively engaging social display formats mid-article on premium mobile editorial content.

  • We're a fast-growing, VC-backed but profitable startup with ambitions to scale our product around the world, improving advertiser performance and publisher revenue whilst ensuring we never compromise on the user's experience.
  • Advertising is the lifeblood of the internet, providing revenue for high quality journalism and content; however, despite providing free content, the user's experience is often ignored. As a team, we're passionate about ensuring digital ads work for the user, as well as the brand or publisher.

What is the role?


You'll be one of the first hires in the USA, growing our American business from scratch. With 25 people to support you in the UK, you will work with and report into Matt, the CEO, who is moving to NYC.

  • Enable the Sales team to tactically break into new markets and verticals using a combination of outreach, marketing, and networking.
  • Build scale on the Publisher side by prospecting new inventory and negotiating deals with top sites and networks.
  • Connect the dots between the Sales, Product, Partnerships, and Management teams to inform the product roadmap and expedite market development.
  • Support CEO in a variety of tasks - and there will be many :)

Approach and experience that will make you thrive:

Your Skills

  • An entrepreneurial toolkit with a proven ability to both lead and sell.
  • A strong pulse on the US advertising market and the confidence to strategically navigate ambiguity.
  • The ability to understand and articulate complex adtech solutions on both the demand and supply sides.

Your Approach

  • Being a self-starter is an absolute must for this role, as you will be tasked with breaking in to a brand new market.
  • An ideal candidate comes with a strong network of potential buyers and publishers and is ready to hit the ground running from Day 1.

Your Experience

  • 4+ years of adtech experience; agency and brand experience preferred
  • 1+ years of managing a team
